It’s an emotional evening in the NBA as two of the game’s greats say goodbye to their longtime home fan base.
Dwyane Wade in Miami, and Dirk Nowitzki in Dallas.
The two legends have been staples in the starting lineups of their respective teams for a long, long time. Dwyane Wade first slipped on a Miami Heat jersey during the 2003-04 season. Dirk was even longer ago, debuting during the 1998-99 season.
Both goodbyes came with a fair share of emotion, and Dirk’s came with an awesome surprise as he entered the building. Hundreds of Mavs and American Airlines Center staff gathered to welcome their star into his final game.
Not only that, the Mavs put together a tribute video to all the charity work Dirk has done. The compilation of impact he’s had on the basketball world and beyond brought the future Hall of Famer to tears.
Dirk will always be beloved in Dallas and throughout the basketball world.
