The Toronto Raptors finished 2018 with the most wins in the NBA (27) and a half game back of the Bucks for first place in the Eastern Conference. They proved themselves against the NBA's best teams (2-0 against Golden State), but there are still a number of big games on the horizon in 2019.
On Thursday, the Raptors will face the Spurs for the first time this season and the first of two matchups this season with the Spurs will be in San Antonio. Kawhi Leonard will make his highly anticipated return to the only other place he's played, while DeMar DeRozan will face his former team for the first time since being traded.
It's going to be a very unique game for both players and teams, but at the moment DeRozan hasn't actually thought about the matchup.
While DeRozan didn't have much to say about the game Thursday, his teammate who had been in a somewhat similar situation had this to say: DeRozan and Leonard know it won't be just another game and as Aldridge also said, it's going to be really fun to watch (with some popcorn preferably).
