The NBA All-Star game took place in New Orleans tonight, but the game may already seem like old news to the city’s residents. Shortly after Anthony Davis won All-Star Game MVP in front of his home fans, the Pelicans traded for DeMarcus cousins in a blockbuster deal.
You can only imagine what goes on in a player’s head when they first hear they’ve been traded, but Cousin’s situation was particularly unique. Ironically, the power-forward found out he was traded to New Orleans while getting a security escort to help him leave to the airport to leave the city.
What now? Does he stay in Nedw Orleans tonight or does he go back to Sacramento?
On the bright side, at least he was able to soak in the city before finding out it will be his permanent home for the foreseeable future.
