Daniel Carcillo won two Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks and spent a good deal of time playing for Joel Quenneville, so when he saw that the long-time head coach had been fired, he was not happy.

Initially, he was focused on the decision to fire Quenneville. Most people were pretty convinced that Quenneville would find another job immediately, but Carcillo was hung up on the fact that he shouldn’t have lost the job in the first place. He placed the blame on the front office.

Then, things shifted to his appreciation for his former coach. Carcillo encouraged others to share their favourite stories of Quenneville and then shared his own, which came at a really tough time in his life.

He wasn’t the only one who had a special connection with Quenneville. Patrick Kane also spoke about wishing things were different.
