Damian Lillard is a fan favourite across the NBA and it’s not just because of what he does on the basketball court on a nightly basis.
The 29-year-old has gained a lot of fans over the years for his loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers and for speaking his mind and being against superteams, but he’s also gained a lot of respect from fans around the league for the community work he does.
This past weekend, Lillard happened to be out and about with his Adidas rep doing some offseason shopping when he spotted a group of kids inside the store. Usually in a situation like that the kids would flock to the professional athlete in a heartbeat, but instead the four-time NBA All-Star went up to them and told them to grab five pairs of shoes each.
According to Lillard, he happened to just find out how much money his Adidas card held on it so that’s when he decided to treat the kids to a lot of shoes in a moment they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.
This is truly what it’s all about. We need more people like Damian Lillard in the world.
