People from across the globe have shown their support for those affected by last Friday’s horrific bus crash in Saskatchewan in many different ways and franchises and athletes are still stepping up to help out.
From the #PutYourSticksOut movement to Jersey Day, to raising money through a GoFundMe campaign, the hockey community has done a lot for the Humboldt community and they aren’t done yet. On Wednesday afternoon, Dallas Stars owner Tom Gaglardi released a statement in regards to the accident and shared how the Stars organization plans on helping out.
In the official release, Gaglardi announced that the Dallas Stars, the Texas Stars and the Kamloops Blazers will come together to provide complimentary rooms at the Sandman Hotel for family members who have traveled to be with their loved ones during this tough time, as well as meal donations from Moxie’s Grill and Bar, Shark Club Sports Bar and Grill, Chop Steakhouse and Bar, and Denny’s restaurants.
Aside from the complimentary hotel rooms and meals, Stars players, led by captain Jamie Benn, will donate $10,000 to the cause, which will be matched by the Dallas Stars Foundation.
