D.K. Metcalf made arguably the play of the NFL season on Sunday night and he reached a ridiculous speed doing it.

For those of you who didn’t watch Sunday night’s thriller between the Cardinals and Seahawks, Metcalf managed to save a touchdown in the second quarter after Budda Baker picked off Russell Wilson on the two-yard line. But this wasn’t just any ordinary defensive play (made by an offensive player). Metcalf apparently traveled more thran 114 yards to make the play, and even crazier? He reached a speed of 22.64  miles per hour; the second fastest speed of the season.

This animation covers the play pretty well:

And here’s the play in real life, just nuts.

RUN TO THE MIDDLE BUDDA! COME ON DUDE!

The tackle paid off for Metcalf and the Hawks’ defence, as Arizona ultimately went for it on forthh and goal but turned the ball over on downs. In the end though, the Cards managed to come away with a 37-34 victory after a wild overtime frame which featured Metcalf having a touchdown called back. Just a wild finish to an overall wild Sunday.

It’s these types of plays that truly reveals a player’s character. Well done D.K.!
