Sidney Crosby has been the best player in the NHL for most of his career, so when he does something incredible, it’s almost taken for granted.
Last night may have been one of the most impressive goals of his career. After a puck deflected off Jake Guentzel’s stick and into the air Crosby batted it up like a volley player setting it for a spike and then batted it into the top of the net past Carey Price (WATCH THE FULL GOAL HERE). It’s one of the more incredible goals we’ve ever seen when considering how smoothly he pulled it off.
If you ask him though, it’s just another goal. He’s just happy to see one go in.
Just trying to follow the bouncing puck and it worked. Hockey players are notorious for using clichés in their scrums but using it on a goal like this is just that much funnier.
On the other end of the spectrum, his teammates, coaches and opponents all seemed pretty impressed.
