It wasn’t too long ago that Charles Barkley made a bit of a stink within Raptors circles, when he boldly declared that it would be the end of basketball in Toronto should Kawhi Leonard leave this summer.
Yeah, there’s a take that might not endear you to fans. But Barkley made it clear where he stands during the NBA on TNT pre-game show, when he talked up “his favourite city” and guaranteed a Game 3 win for the Raptors.
Look at the pop that Barkley got from the crowd! That’s how you win ‘em over, Chuck. It seems like he’s in good standing with Raptors fans at the moment — especially if the Raptors can deliver that Game 3 win he promised.
After Game 2, Barkley and the NBA on TNT crew were joined by Malcolm Brogdon, who spoke about his Hoops2O clean water program, and Barkley was quick to donate $45,000 to build a new well in East Africa. We’d say the guy has built up some goodwill recently!
