If you're a hockey fan and are just waking up or haven't been on the internet all day, Max Pacioretty got traded to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Trade rumours involving the former Habs' captain have been out there for a long time now and the Canadiens finally pulled the trigger early Monday morning, thus ending the Pacioretty era in Montreal.

The timing of the deal was basically perfect (aside from it being announced at like 1AM) as the annual Canadiens Golf Tournament took place Monday.

All of the questions the players and management were asked about obviously had something to do with their former teammate and Carey Price broke the ice with the media with a joke to lighten the mood that all fans will appreciate:

Nothing like a little comedic relief to ease the tension.  In all seriousness, as Price expressed, it seemed like the Habs (along with the rest of the hockey world) were just waiting for a trade to happen, so it didn't exactly surprise them once it happened.

How the Canadiens fare this season could ultimately be a surprise, though, as expectations are always high in Montreal, but their captain and best offensive player is gone.
