Cardinals prospect having a catch with an entire youth team during the pre-game will warm your heart

Minor League Baseball games are a great place for baseball fans to take in the action at an affordable price, but they’re also a great place to get an early look at some of the players who might become the face of your favourite franchise somewhere in the near future.

The Peoria Chiefs got their week started with a doubleheader against the Beloit Snappers on Monday and some young fans got an experience they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. Before the first game of the day, some young baseball fans got the chance to have a catch with Peoria third baseman Nolan Gorman on the field.

Gorman, 19, is currently ranked No. 2 on the St. Louis Cardinals’ prospects board, so in a couple of years these kids will be able to tell their friends and family that they had a catch with a big leaguer.

Through 31 games in Class A, the teenager is batting .263 with a .351 OBP to go with eight home runs and 24 RBI in 114 at-bats; ranking him first in the Midwest League in home runs and second in RBI.
