On the final day of the NHL regular season, fans of Canadian NHL teams are focused in totally different places.
Leafs and Jets fans are focused on their team’s playoff matchups, with the Jets locked in against the Minnesota Wild and the Leafs waiting to find out if they will play the Lightning or Bruins. For the most part, other Canadians are focused on the NHL draft lottery and the future of their team.
The Canucks in particular might be paying attention to a little SHL hockey where the team’s number one prospect has been impressing all season and in the playoffs.
Elias Pettersson’s most impressive moment came today when he scored an overtime goal to send his team to the league finals.
Pettersson will be a great addition to a Canucks team that will need some new offensive threats with the departure of the Sedins. And while they may not be twins, a Swedish duo of Pettersson and Rasmus Dahlin would probably make the transition to a Sedin-less team much easier for Canucks fans.
