Keith Kinkaid is part of a NJ Devils crew that loves to have fun on Twitter and this season he thought he’d try out something new: Emoji focused tweets.
It’s a pretty simple premise, use emjois to sum up an entire game or moment in a tweet.
What makes it more difficult is trying to sort through the nicknames that he has for the Devils players. Some of them are obvious, some not. The Devils call it the Kinkode and Kinkaid has actually revealed the meaning of most emojis. Still, it’s a fun test to see if you are enough of a hockey/devils fan to understand the nicknames and tech-savvy enough to understand all the emojis.
Here are a couple of recent examples:
If you want to try and translate them yourselves, the Devils provided a part of the code earlier in the year.
Since then, some more players have been added to the tweet. Luckily, another person who enjoys Kinkaids Tweets has added an updated legend.
So to translate his latest Tweet, it goes along a little like this, “NJ Devils come out on top! Huge 41 save effort from Cory Schneider. Penalty Kill was fire. Travis Zajac getting his first goal of the year. 2 point night for Stefan Noesen, Jesper Bratt and Taylor Hall, each with one goal and one assist. Nico Hischier chiming in with two apples (assists). Marcus Johansson and Miles Wood each adding an apple!”
