After waiting for much of the offseason, Bryce Harper finally got the offer he was waiting for, and it was a doozy. The Philadelphia Phillies committed a 13-year, $330 million contract to land the crown jewel of this year’s free agency class.
We think Harper is pretty stoked about this one, and he has every reason to be! He’s already recruiting players in other sports to come to Philadelphia, or as he calls it, “the greatest city in the world.”
Is Bryce Harper going to land Le’Veon Bell for the Eagles?
Like Harper, Bell is a highly talented player who has been biding his time for a payday, even holding out for all of last season after failing to get the extension he wanted from the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’ll be a free agent now, and just like Harper, he’s going to be a desirable commodity on the market — he’ll certainly have suitors willing to back up the Brink’s truck.
Other Philadelphia athletes are embracing Harper to their city as well. There’s clearly a level of excitement in the city with the level that its sports teams have been playing at, and all hands are on deck from team to team and sport to sport.
