Any hockey fans knows that Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand is somewhat of a jokester. The 29-year-old has earned the reputation as quite the pest on the ice, and isn’t typically one to hold back from shouting whatever is on his mind. Heck, sometimes he even gets a little too close for comfort!
This time, Marchand did his damage off of the playing surface. The Halifax native has gained quite the following on Twitter thanks to his punchy jokes about players from around the league.
Bruins teammate David Backes was Marchand’s latest victim, after he posted a picture of his recently groomed dogs on Twitter. Marchand saw the photos as a perfect opportunity to strike at his teammate and came up with a pretty clever response that Backes probably wasn’t too fond of.
Perhaps the 5’9 forward is somewhat afraid of his 6’3 221 pound friend, but it clearly wasn’t enough to refrain him from chirping.
Backes is known to be quite the dog lover, so he probably got a good kick out of Marchand’s comment. The American has been rocking a solid amount of facial hair lately, so maybe he’ll take Marchand’s advice?
We’ve got to hand it to Marchand for once again proving to be one of the NHL’s greatest characters. Love him or hate him, he’s a fantastic personality to have in the league.
