Last week, news broke that Nike, Adidas and Under Armour all backed out of a possible shoe deal with Lonzo Ball due to his father LaVar Ball.
With three of the biggest shoe distributors backing out on a deal before he even stepped foot on the court with an NBA team, it led to some serious roasting online.
It turns out this didn’t seem to faze LaVar Ball one bit, as he went ahead anyways and created his son’s first signature shoe for him.
Known as the ZO2 Prime, Big Baller Brand is currently offering a pre-order for Lonzo’s first signature shoe, with the price starting at $495 USD and can get as high as $695 USD.
That’s not the only shoe set to be released later this year. Big Baller Brand is also releasing a shoe called the ZO2 Wet, which are signed by Lonzo himself and will sell for anywhere between $995 to $1,195 USD a pair.
They’re not only specializing in basketball shoes, though. They also have a flip-flop set to be released called the ZO2 Slide, and will cost about $220 USD.
Pre-order on Lonzo Ball’s first signature shoes only last for a limited time, as orders are expected to be shipped out by the end of November.
LaVar Ball has said and done some pretty crazy things over the past few months, but you’ve got to give him some credit for actually going forward and making these shoes.
However, something like this can quickly backfire on him, so only time will tell if the first line of Big Baller Brand shoes are a success or a bust.
