One thing that hockey fans seem to be depraved of more than other sports is custom gear. With the price of equipment and conservative nature of the game, not a lot of special designs make it into market.

So when we see something like what Bauer and Xbox put out today, it gets us a little excited.

They posted about a system and stick that they’ve collaborated on for Bauer’s new ADV stick and the Xbox One X.

It would go great with the Nintendo Power Hockey Glove from our graphic artist Vince’s imagination.

And it’s not the first collab like this we’ve seen in hockey history. We’ve seen some Fortnite skates from Mitch Marner, Ovechkin’s Russian boots and, of course, David Pastrnak’s collab with a pasta emoji.

We’d love to see more gear like this in the NHL, which is why our designer Vince is constantly making concept versions. We miss the days when Nike use to mess around with skate designs and bring out some truly original pieces of equipment.

Even if it’s not a collab, interesting equipment like Sergei Federov’s skates are always cool to see.
