Baker Mayfield is only entering his second season in the NFL, but he's as outspoken and confident as a future Hall of Famer that's been in the league for upwards of 10 seasons.

When the Browns first selected the former Heisman Trophy winner, though, there were some skeptics to say the least.  Mayfield put that scrutiny to rest, of course, but in an article in GQ from Clay Skipper, he didn't hold back on sharing his thoughts about the Giants' selection of Daniel Jones this past draft with the 6th overall selection.

Near our booth, a SportsCenter segment about the New York Giants catches Mayfield's eye. “I cannot believe the Giants took Daniel Jones,” Mayfield says, about New York's much-maligned draft-day decision to spend the sixth pick on the quarterback from Duke (whose college record was a measly 17–19). “Blows my mind.”

At the end of the day, winning is the most important thing in the NFL and in Baker's eyes, it's the most important characteristic of a great quarterback.

To Mayfield, the characteristics of a great quarterback are simple. “Either you have a history of winning and being that guy for your team,” he says, “or you don't.”

Jones didn't have the luxury of playing for one of the best teams in the country in Oklahoma like Baker did and definitely didn't have the same talent level around him on both sides of the ball during his college career.

That said, he brings up a good point and one that was brought up as part of the argument against drafting Jones prior to the draft.  Surprisingly, the quote about Jones wasn't even the best part of the interview.
