Rocco Grimaldi was selected 33rd overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers after a three-year stint at the University of North Dakota.

The Anaheim, California native appeared in 27 games for the Panthers from 2014-2016 before he was traded to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Reto Berra. Since the deal, the 24-year-old has played 10 games in an Avs uniform, but he’s been having a lot of success in the AHL.

On Wednesday night, the San Antonio Rampage centre picked up his 11th goal of the season and he did it in a very impressive way.

As Grimaldi picked up the puck and made his way around his own net, he realized he had enough space to take off and go for a skate and that’s exactly what he did.

Through 22 games, Grimaldi has a team-high 12 goals to go along with six assists for 18 points.
