The William Nylander contract is sealed and signed, meaning that the storylines of the saga is finally over.
Nylander, of course, was inked to a six-year, $41.4 million extension Saturday just minutes before the deadline hit that would've seen the young Swede forfeit the rest of the 2018/19 season.
Hours after the deal was completed, the Maple Leafs were able to defeat the Minnesota Wild 5-3, reporters caught up with Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and head coach Mike Babcock to get their thoughts on the Nylander signing.
Matthews, in particular, decided to have some fun with the reporters present in the away dressing room inside the Xcel Energy Center.
Marner, meanwhile, explained in detail how Babcock broke the news to the team, and naturally, the Leafs players immediately went to their phones to find out the details of the contract.
