Yordan Alvarez entered the 2019 season as the No. 3 prospect in the Houston Astros organization and the 22-year-old outfielder has given Astros fans plenty of reasons to be excited for the team’s near future. Through 52 games, Alvarez has already set a new career high in home runs with 21 on the campaign, and is well on his way to setting a new personal best for RBI in a season as he leads the Pacific Coast League with 65 runs batted in.

Due to his outrageous numbers through 52 games, pitchers have decided to stop giving him pitches that he can crush out of the park. In the bottom of the fourth inning of Sunday afternoon’s tilt between the Round Rock Express and the Iowa Cubs, Alvarez decided to save everyone some time by skipping his at-bat and went straight to first base.

Alvarez had been walked in five of his past seven plate appearances leading up to that at-bat, so you can’t blame him for decided to skip the whole process and advancing to first base.

Through 97 games at the Triple-A level, the Las Tunas, Cuba native has crushed 29 home runs and 93 RBI to go with a .312 batting average and a .406 OBP.

We weren’t kidding when we said you see something new at the ball park every single day.
