You guys remember when Vince Carter dunked on Frederic Weis in the 2000 Olympics. You guys might not remember who Frederic Weis, but we promise you, you remember this.

Now in what may be his final season in the NBA, Carter is reflecting back on his younger years, as he intends to wear the classic Nike Shox BB4 for the remainder of the season. That was the shoe he wore when he dunked on Weis, and as he shares, it was the shoe that he attaches to his rise in the NBA.

Vince Carter plans to wear his iconic Shox BB4 for the rest of the season, the shoe he leapt over a 7-footer in at the 2000 Olympics.

“The success of the dunk started the legend of the shoes,” said VC. “I became a star player in the BB4.”

We’re sure that fans from his early days in Toronto will remember these kicks, and as a pleasant twist, he’ll be bringing out a Raptors-themed colourway as well at some point this season. We can’t wait. The Shox need to come back.
