Who knew Arizona Coyotes goaltender Antti Raanta was such a jokester?
The 29-year-old has generally come across as quiet throughout his NHL career (primarily as a backup), but after being thrusted into a starting role in Arizona, the Finnish netminder is now full of chirps, and that was on full display during a recent presser. Raanta discussed his goals for the upcoming season and after saying he attempted to add some muscle, he made sure to add a chirp in on his teammate Michael Grabner. The latter then admitted he clearly prefers to go tarps optional.
Who knew the guy was so jacked?!
The two played together in the 2016-17 season with the New York Rangers, so this clearly stems further than this year, when Grabner decided to join the Coyotes on a three-year deal. Grabner’s coming off of back-to-back 27 goal campaigns and we can’t say we’re surprised after seeing how fit the guy is.
Both players will looks to lead the ‘Yotes to their first playoff appearance since 2012, and it’d probably be a good idea for Grabner to teach his young teammates a few conditioning tips.
