In one of the great shade-throwing moments of this yearโ€™s Super Bowl, Antoine Winfield Jr. taunted Tyreek Hill with the peace sign after breaking up a pass to Hill โ€” a callback to when Hill originally hit Winfield with the peace sign first, back in the regular season.

Now the NFL has weighed in, levying a fine of $7,815 on Winfield for his taunt. (Weโ€™ll note, Hill was not fined for taunting Winfield back in the regular season.)

You know what? If thatโ€™s the price of pettiness, then maybe the pettiness is worth it. Weโ€™re going to guess this one was personal for Winfield... and he got the last laugh, with a Super Bowl championship to show for the drama.

Even Tom Brady got in on the schadenfreude, flashing a peace sign of his own towards Winfield during the Super Bowl parade.
