Back in March, undefeated boxer Anthony Joshua promised that he would break the Drake Curse on June 1st.
He... did not. Andy Ruiz Jr. defeated Joshua by KO to become the world heavyweight championship, despite entering a massive underdog.
All due credit to Ruiz for a dominant showing, but we can’t help but note that even a pristine 22-0 record entering Saturday’s fight wasn’t perfect enough for Joshua to avoid the Drake Curse. It’s just inevitable.
And yet, even after Joshua’s defeat, athletes just won’t stop tempting the Drake Curse. Of course, the Raptors are looking sharp right now, but recent evidence still suggests that this is just irresponsible on UFC fighter Mike Perry’s part.
