So far during the Olympics, Canadaβs women have been doing all the heavy lifting, winning all of the medals that the country has gained at Tokyo 2020. There was always one man though Canada had high hopes for since the Olympics began, and his name is Andre De Grasse.
De Grasse was one of the favourites heading into the 100-meter final, and he was doing it in style with his shades and winning his semi-final heat.
The final was anybodyβs race after former champion Usain Bolt retired after the last Olympics. Italian Lamont Jacobs became the first man from Italy to compete in and win the 100 meters while De Grasse landed a podium spot in third.
Canada was stoked to see their man medal.
