On Tuesday morning, the hockey world was introduced to the newest ECHL franchise, the Newfoundland Growlers.
The new franchise will be the new ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and at the team's press conference, an actual Newfoundland dog came out, much to the delight of those in attendance.
The Newfoundland dog is much more than all kinds of adorable. It's known for its size, strength, intelligence, and loyalty.
The Growlers will kick off their season against the Florida Everblades on October 12, 2018.
