The Boston Red Sox opened up a three-game series with the Royals in Kansas City on Tuesday night. Since the BoSox are one of the oldest franchises in sports, they tend to attract quite the following whenever they’re in town thanks to their loyal fans who follow them wherever they go.
One young Red Sox fan was celebrating his birthday on Tuesday, so he decided to get to the ballpark nice and early to watch his favourite team and player warm-up. He also had a sign with him that read, ‘it’s my bday and I really want to meet Mookie’, and Alex Cora spotted the sign and made his birthday wish come true.
Cora didn’t just bring Mookie Betts over to the seats to meet the young man, he pulled him right out of the crowd and brought him out onto the field for the ultimate experience.
A moment the young fan will remember for the rest of his life.
