They say you see something new every day in baseball and that was certainly the case in Houston on Tuesday night.
After the Oakland Athletics scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to force extra innings, the A’s took a lead in the top of the 11th inning. However, the Astros came right back to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning, and ended up capturing the win in one of the wildest ways off all-time.
Alex Bregman made contact with the ball but thought it rolled into foul territory. However, after realizing it stayed in play the 24-year-old was quick to react and somehow managed to avoid a couple of tags from Jonathan Lucroy, before forcing the Athletics’ catcher to make terrible toss to first base which led to the eventual game-winning run.
