Yesterday was Canada Day, and the entire country is still riding the patriotic wave and the feelings of Canadian pride.
Apparently, though, actual Canadians weren’t the only ones in ultra Canuck mode on Canada Day this year.
Alex Bowman is an Arizona-born NASCAR driver that now resides in North Carolina, but this past weekend, his inner-Canadian was showing. Bowman earned his first NASCAR Cup Series win at Chicagoland Speedway this Sunday, and jetted back to NC to celebrate his win immediately after.
By the time he got back to party, it was Monday, July 1st. Canada Day. We’re not sure whether or not this was an accident, but during the party, people were chugging full bottles of maple syrup.
Oh Canada?
We might have to grant Bowman honorary Canadian status for this one, even if it was just a coincidence.
Bowman led 88 laps out of 267 in what was his first victory in 134 starts, and after coming up just short and placing second twice before, it was definitely a reason to celebrate.
Maple syrup definitely wouldn’t have been out first choice to chug, but we respect it.
