The San Jose Sharks and the Vancouver Canucks met for the second time in less than a week on Thursday night in San Jose.

Ahead of the game, the Sharks Foundation presented Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that trains and provides assistance dogs, with a $50,000 grant and they had Danny McHale and his companion Lake team up for the ceremonial faceoff.

Clearly Lake decided to switch things up with the ceremonial faceoff by dropping the puck on the carpet instead of the ice.

Either way, Joe Pavelski and Henrik Sedin appeared to be big fans of the way the ceremonial puck drop went down and that’s all that matters.
