Numerous dogs have been making their way onto various ice hockey surfaces in recent months.

On December 27, the Atlanta Gladiators of the East Coast Hockey League held the first ever Weiner Dog Race at Infinite Energy Arena. The contestant ‘Weagle’ proved to be the top dog in the heated battle.

Five days earlier, Danny McHale and his adorable service dog ‘Lake’ teamed up to drop the opening ceremonial faceoff In San Jose in a game between the Sharks and Vancouver Canucks. Before the event, The Sharks foundation presented Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that trains and provides assistance dogs, with a $50,000 grant.

Another hockey dog video was recently discovered, this time taking place on an outdoor surface. Owner Jane Corrigann’s golden retriever was spotted walking on the ice with a classic Nike wooden stick in her mouth. She was then shown picking up a puck in what almost looks like a classic game of fetch.

How about those booties?!

Corrigann appears to be a big hockey fan, having posted multiple videos and pictures of herself on skates. In February of 2017, she posted a video of her stickhandling in front of her pup on the ice.

Everyone needs a partner at the ODR, and Corrigann is lucky to have a friend to bring if no one else is able to join her.

Even if it’s not a human.
