For the fifth time in six seasons since moving back to Winnipeg, the Jets will be watching the playoffs rather than playing in them.

Obviously it's been a tough and frustrating seasons for fans and players, but there are a couple of positives.

If the Jets can rack up two points over their final two games, they'll finish the season with their second highest point total since the move back to Winnipeg.

Furthermore, Mark Scheifele has taken the next step as he has a career high 80 points entering play Thursday night.  Add in the fact that Patrik Laine has exceeded all expectations with 64 points (36 goals) in his rookie campaign and there are clearly reasons for optimism going forward.

With only two games left, all that fans and players can do is have fun, enjoy them and look ahead to next season.

Based on this epic picture someone took of Laine at a Speedway in Columbus, it's safe to say he's trying to do just that.

That's easily one of the best things you'll see all day, no doubt about it.

As much as Jets fans will get a smile out of that picture, we imagine a win in Columbus Thursday night will increase their excitement.

The Jets can play spoiler as the Blue Jackets are three points back of the Penguins for second in the Metropolitan division with three games to go.
