University of Michigan fullback Ben Mason is not your average fullback. Against Maryland on Saturday, he decided to jump over a guy, and we promise you, the sight of a large man getting full clearage over some poor defender is every bit as fulfilling as you’d think.
Fullback? More like full send, right?
The fullback, of course, is one of the most overlooked and unsung position in modern football. Although it differs from league to league, teams have generally transitioned towards speed and passing in the spread game, and away from raw power running and blocking backs.
Don’t tell that to Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, who apparently has fullback sets in his playbook for days on end.
The moral of the story? Smash that fullback dive in Madden and never look back.
