The St. Louis Cardinals were able to stave off elimination in Game 4 and force a do-or-die Game 5 against the Atlanta Braves in their NLDS series, and they were able to do it thanks to Yadier Molina’s sac fly to score Kolten Wong in the tenth inning.
Think Yadi’s hyped about it? By god, this is a bat flip to the stars. This isn't even a bat flip. The guy's just straight chucking it.
Is that... The Cardinal Way?!
After the game, Molina describes basically flinging the bat over to the bullpen. He isn’t one to mask his emotions, that’s for sure.
Maybe bat flips aren’t your cup of tea — respect the game, or whatever — but a true connoisseur will definitely be able to respect the sheer yardage on that one. That flip had legs of its own.
We look forward to more drama in the deciding Game 5, and hopefully, escalation in the form of Yadi throwing his bat javelin-style after his next big play.
