Professional athletes are some of the most popular people on the planet, so they often have some pretty dedicated fans.
William Nylander is one NHL player that has accumulated a large fan base very quickly in the NHL. Of course, his name already has some pedigree with his father playing the NHL for so many years, but he’s also had two extremely strong seasons to start his career. Now pile on the international success with winning the World Hockey Championship last season and he has fans all over the world.
It was after that gold-medal win that he actually had his most bizarre interaction with a fan. As they were walking through the streets for their gold-medal parade, Nylander was ambushed by a big supporter.
If he thinks that was weird, things could get truly bizarre if the Leafs meet the Bruins in the first round of the NHL playoffs. He loves to smooch.
This short clip comes from a larger video available on the Leafs Nation Network, a place that has been pumping out great videos all year long. They have a full gaming tournament with the Leafs, several behind-the-scenes episodes of the season and, of course, these Leaf on Leaf interviews. That's where the epic staring contest came from as well.
