The Vegas Golden Knights are the talk of the town, the country, and the country sitting directly north of that country. They’ve taken over the hockey world.
Every team entering a professional sports league wants to make a splash, but the Knights have taken that notion to a whole other level. Despite entering the season with the same sort of expectations as a door stop, the Knights keep persevering and proving their doubters wrong. When they finished first in their division, every thought the L.A. Kings would put them in their place. When they swept the Kings, the Sharks were next up. When they only manged to win two games in the series, surely Winnipeg – one of the league’s juggernauts this year – would be able to finish them off. Nope, and now they’ve one game up in the Stanley Cup Final. The group of expansion draftees keeps on trucking, it’s what one star player called a group of Golden Misfits.
That player was William Karlsson.
Karlsson has proven to be one of the key pieces in Vegas’ Cinderella story. While the whole team has enjoyed a breakout season basically across the board, Karlsson’s coming out campaign has been particularly impressive. Seemingly just to stick it to his old club, Karlsson has now scored more goals in this post season than he did all of last season.
Pretty impressive, and that’s not to mention that he’s put together some of the most marquee highlight reel goals this season.
