William Karlsson was the breakout player of the 2017-18 season, scoring 43 goals despite never reaching double digits in any other of his years in the NHL and he has been rewarded for it.
Karlsson and the Golden Knights settled on a one-year, $5.25 million contract. That’s a significant pay bump for a player who had been making $1 million for the last two seasons, so it’s a fair question to wonder what he might buy first with all of his money. The answer? Socks.
We think he’s just having a little fun here, he’ll probably buy something else, but it’s funny that he’s been getting roasted for his suit look.
This might be a classic case of the older guys in the league roasting the younger ones. It has become a definite trend in the NHL where the young players seem to skip the socks in their game-day suits, but it appears as if Karlsson will change up the look for next season.
We’re not sure how much he should change though, things seemed to work out pretty well last year.
