Whenever trades involving big names players occur, hockey fans usually turn to the NHL video game series to see if the trade would be accepted in the virtual world.
In most cases, there's outrage about the actual trade, so people want to see if the virtual general managers would accept the same trade or rip the other for offering the trade.
On Friday night, Montreal traded Alex Galchenyuk to Arizona for Max Domi and Canadiens fans weren't thrilled about the trade, so we decided to see if it would go down the same in the virtual world.
Surprised? Obviously video games are nothing like real life, but maybe NHL 18 is trying to tell Montreal fans to hold off on the criticism until Domi actually plays a game with his new team.
Sure, he's hasn't been the goal scorer Galchenyuk had been for the team over the past four seasons, but maybe he finds his scoring touch in Montreal.
Point is, things didn't seem to be working out for both players in their previous situations and maybe a move will do Domi and Galchenyuk good in the long run.
