The NHL has released their Reverse Retro jersey designs, and we’re obsessed. Some of our favourite looks from hockey history have been revived for the modern day, and we can’t wait to see these uniforms take the ice next season.

Honestly, the NHL really got creative with these, and some of these jerseys stand out from what we’re used to in terms of hockey uniforms. So, we decided to take a few of our favourites from this year’s crop of jerseys — although picking favourites wasn’t easy by any means! — and imagine them as sneaker designs.

Which of these Reverse Retro inspired shoes are you feelin’ most?

The Arizona Coyotes Nike Vapormax

Alright, come on, you know we had to do this the Coyotes’ new Kachina jerseys! With the desert landscape along the trim of the jersey, this was definitely one of the designs that we thought would look best as a sneaker. The jersey itself is instantly one of the most unique in hockey. It’s pretty fire.

The Quebec Nordiques adidas Ultraboost

Yeah, technically, we should call these the Avs Ultraboosts, but we love that they’re choosing to throw it back to the Nordiques era fleur-de-lis logo. We’re going to do the same and respect tradition by pretending as if the Nordiques never moved.

The Philadelphia Flyers Nike Air Max 720 iSPA

The Flyers' Reverse Retro is a spin-off of their jerseys from the 1990s Legion of Doom era, remixing the team's classic black, orange and white colour palette. You know we had to throw that colourway on to a sneaker as unique as the iSPA 720.

BLASTY’S BACK! Enough said, right?

The St. Louis Blues adidas Ultraboost

The Blues brought their tri-colour jerseys back for a select few throwback games last season, and we’re so stoked to get to see it again this upcoming season. Red, yellow and blue all on the same palette together is definitely visually loud, but in all the best of ways. Bring back colouring chaos!
