As you probably know, we're massive advocates of a good head of hockey hair.
Anytime we see some great flow making a little guest appearance out the back of an NHL players' helmet is an exciting time, but players who go for the full mullet look definitely have a little bit of extra street cred in our books.
In saying that, we want to issue a formal apology: Mitch Marner, we're sorry. Your mullet is coming along impeccably, and we haven't given it nearly enough attention. We imagine that growing a playoff beard is an absolute struggle for players who aren't Joe Thornnton years old, so Marner has very recently opted for the little mully look to make up for his lack of facial hair.
Boy oh boy, does it ever make up for it. While Morgan Rielly made a Joe Dirt comparison, Jack Campbell thinks he looks like a rockstar, and so do we. Just look at the mullet perfection of Marner giving it that old time hockey shake before sliding his helmet on.
Now THAT is a thing of beauty.
The mullet is a throwback for Marner, who used to rock the mully back in junior. We'll note though, his London Knights mullet was definitely a bit greasier that his Toronto Maple Leafs one, but we'll see how it goes.
The side profile of the look is the best view of its greatness, but we can't help but think he might have taken a page out of a certain Squid's book.
Did...Mitch copy Jesse?
Okay, probably not, but just for the record - Mitch definitely has the upper hand in the flow department.
