Things got a little wild on Sunday night when the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons narrowly avoided the second coming of “Malice at the Palace.”
It all started with an egregious LeBron James foul on Isaiah Stewart. Stewart was rightfully upset with LeBron, but he took his emotions pretty far and ended up charging LeBron’s direction a number of times before finally being taken off the court by multiple people.
While the focus was almost entirely on LeBron and Stewart, another figure emerged as a subject in the brouhaha. His name is Russell Westbrook.
Images of Westbrook quickly went viral after he appeared to square up as Stewart charged towards the Lakers. Apparently Westbrook’s part in the kerfuffle was enough to warrant him a technical foul, but apparently he didn’t even realize that call was made!
During his postgame presser, Westbrook expressed confusion when reporter’s inquired about a technical. It’s clear he had no idea until that very moment.
Westbrook is no stranger to getting T’d up. Sunday’s technical was his 5th on the season, tying him with Karl-Anthony Towns for 2nd most in the league. Only Rudy Gobert has more with 6.
