The Washington Football Team will be honouring two franchise legends in a special way this season.
On Tuesday, the club announced it would be renaming a couple of streets after Joe Gibbs and Sean Taylor.
The club is renaming the main road that leads up to FedEx Field to Sean Taylor Road, while the Headquarters address will now be 21300 Coach Gibbs Drive.
Joe Gibbs was the head coach of Washington’s NFL team for 16 years over two different stints, and was the head coach of the three Super Bowl winnings teams in franchise history.
Sean Taylor was selected 5th overall by Washington in the 2004 NFL Draft and was a two-time Pro Bowler in his four seasons. Sean died in 2007 from extensive blood loss through a severed femoral artery after he was shot by an intruder in his home.
