Just when you thought the Golden State Warriors were going to take a step back they went out and made some noise late Sunday night.

It all started with the news that Klay Thompson was staying put after agreeing on a max 5-year, $190 million deal and that was only the beginning. Not even 20 minutes later the Warriors were making more noise as they landed D’Angelo Russell from the Brooklyn Nets in a sign-and-trade deal that’s going to send Andre Iguodala and a lot of picks to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Warriors lost Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets and are most likely going to be without Klay Thompson for a majority of the regular season, if not the entire thing, but the recent addition of Russell has fans marking Golden State down for another big year.

Russell is coming off a career-year where he averaged 21.1 points, 7 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 81 games and helped lead the Nets to the playoffs for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

The Warriors are still going to be an issue next season.
