Sidney Crosby is a student of the game and there’s rarely a time that he’s not analyzing his own and his teammates’ performance.
There is probably no better example of that than a shot we saw of him on the bench earlier tonight.
Crosby was on the bench analyzing plays as the game was going on and he is laser-focused on whatever was happening on this play. The way he is buried in that iPad you would think he had a leaked copy of the new season of Game of Thrones.
Most people would just wait until the end of the period or their coach to point something out, but every shift he is locked in. So often you’ll see him giving his teammates tips, instructing them on where to be and just like in this clip, trying to understand how everything unfolds on every shift. There aren’t many like him in the NHL.
Of course, we’ll never know what was on the iPad, but it is just another example of the attention to detail he has in his game.
That’s why he’s been the best in the game for so many years.
