Victor Oladipo showed every basketball fan this past season exactly what he’s capable of doing on the court.
The 25-year-old dropped career-high numbers across the board and nearly led the Pacers past the Cleveland Cavaliers in the opening round of the playoffs, but he also saw a massive increase in his fan base across the league. After hearing the story about a 10-year-old fan battling cancer, Oladipo didn’t waste any time reaching out to the youngster to let him know he’s got his back.
Oladipo was quick to reach out to young Cameron Kirk as he wrote a personal letter to him in hopes of lifting his spirits and giving him some extra fight, and he made sure to let him know the entire Pacers organization is backing him during this time.
The former Indiana Hoosier might be the most popular guy in all of Indiana right now, so something as small as a letter goes a very long way. Although he didn’t win any of the monthly NBA Cares Community Assist Awards this season, the Silver Spring, Maryland native was a finalist for the league award two years ago.
