Very bizarre penalty to Jackson State's mascot has amused fans jumping to "Wavee Dave's" defence

Jackson State’s mascot “Wavee Dave” was enjoying a regular day on the sidelines, helping his team in any way he can, when suddenly a very odd series of events began to unfold.

It started with a touchdown, which of course means it’s time for the team’s biggest and furriest cheerleader to let loose. Unfortunately, the celebrations were cut short when the nice touchdown catch finished with a brief scuffle between the two teams.

AND SUDDENLY WAVEE DAVE SPRINGS TO ACTION!!!!

Wavee Dave got right in the middle of the confrontation and immediately began playing peacemaker. Once all the dust had settled, a flag remained on the field and needed some explaining. With so many shots thrown around, it could have gone against a number of football players.

But no! No, no, no! The penalty was against WAVEE DAVE!

So to clarify, Wavee Dave got a penalty for trying to break up a fight during his own team’s touchdown celebration. Is that even a real sentence? Anyway, fans quickly hopped to the defence of the mascot.
