The BarDown ice hockey team continues to push the limitations of what we can do on a weekly basis in the ASHL.
From playing like soccer players, to cheering for our opponents, pranking our own, and doing NHL 19 moves out on the ice, the 'Going BarDown' video series presents an interesting challenge for any team in the ASHL York Sunday D division.
The boys are finally back with they're the latest stunt, and if you played Timbits hockey growing up, then you'll have an idea of what we did.
Remember when your coaches would blow an air-horn for a full-on five player line change? Well, we decided to apply this to a real-life game. Whenever the horn goes, all five players must change, no matter where they or the puck is on the ice. Call it punishment for taking super long shifts (cough cough, Jesse, cough cough).
It doesn't matter if you're in your own zone and there's three forecheckers breathing down your neck, you must change.
That's only a small snippet of the madness. Can you imagine what our goaltender Vince had to put up with? Constant breakaways, 2-on-0s, 3-on-0s, 4-on-0s, 5-on-0s and sustained zone time for the opposition with nobody defending in sight.
Poor Vince, what did he do to deserve this all? As he said in his post-game interview, the BarDown squad was still able to pull away with two points in the shootout victory.
As always, shout out to ASHL and Canlan for allowing us to put this altogether. Stay tuned for what we have in store next!
