The Dallas Stars added to the year of early busted brackets as they eliminated the Nashville Predators from the playoffs with a 2-1 overtime victory in Game 6 on Monday night. All night long the Stars fans brought the energy as there were very few times the fans in the lower bowl were actually sitting in their seats.
By the time overtime rolled around there wasn’t a body left in their seat as everyone in attendance was on their feet waiting for the game-winning goal. Fortunately for them, it was their guys who ended up finding the back of the net in the extra frame and their support did not go unnoticed by the players.
When asked about the noise in the arena, Tyler Seguin had nothing but high praise for the Stars faithful.
“High, if not number one. That was pretty incredible. That crowd is, it’s crazy,” said Seguin when asked about the playoff atmosphere.
“It wasn’t hard to focus it was just hard to hear, but we loved it. It was awesome. You know, Nashville was a crazy building, but our fans have been doing an incredible job and I can’t wait for the next round.”
Stars fans have got to love hearing that from a guy like Seguin who has a Stanley Cup under his belt and knows a thing or two about loud atmospheres during a lengthy playoff run.
Dallas took the season series against St. Louis, 3-1, and outscored the Blues 13-7 in their four meetings.
