The Olympic Games is all about the moments. From the glory to the heartbreak, to the unbelievable display of human capabilities, the Games is two weeks of pure showcase.
On Sunday, we got one of the moments of the Games so far when high jumpers Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar and Gianmarco Tamberi of Italy shared an extremely emotional finish to the event.
Tied through all their jumps but one, neither jumper managed to clear the bar on their final try. The result was a major decision for the two jumpers; share the gold medal spot or have a jump-off to crown one champion.
They decided immediately with no hesitation that they would stand together atop the podium.
What an awesome moment. This is what the Games is all about!
